Introduction



Tally Prime is a popular accounting software used to manage business transactions. Before starting any accounting work, it is necessary to create a company in Tally Prime.


Company Creation in Tally Prime (Step by Step)

Steps:

  • Open Tally Prime- Educational Mode(T)












  • Click on Create Company















  • Fill the required details:
    1. Company Name
    2. Address
    3. State
    4. Country
    5. Pin Code
    6. Financial Year Beginning
    7. Books Beginning Date

















  • Press Ctrl + A to save the company

Shortcut Keys

  • Ctrl + A → Save
  • Ctrl + Alt + C → Create Company
  • Alt + K → Open Company Menu


Company Alter (Modify Company)

Steps:

  1. Go to Gateway of Tally
  2. Press Alt + K
  3. Select Alter
  4. Choose the company
  5. Make changes
  6. Press Ctrl + A to save

Company Delete (Delete Company)

Steps:

  1. Go to Gateway of Tally
  2. Press Alt + K
  3. Select Alter
  4. Select the company
  5. Press Alt + D
  6. Confirm delete

⚠️ Note: Deleted company data cannot be recovered.


Practical Assignment (Create 4 Companies)

Students should create the following companies for practice:


1. ABC Traders

  • Company Name: ABC Traders
  • Address: Mumbai, Maharashtra
  • State: Maharashtra
  • Country: India
  • Pin Code: 400001
  • Financial Year: 01-04-2025

2. XYZ Enterprises

  • Company Name: XYZ Enterprises
  • Address: Delhi, India
  • State: Delhi
  • Country: India
  • Pin Code: 110001
  • Financial Year: 01-04-2025

3. Tech World Solutions

  • Company Name: Tech World Solutions
  • Address: Pune, Maharashtra
  • State: Maharashtra
  • Country: India
  • Pin Code: 411001
  • Financial Year: 01-04-2025

4. Bright Future Academy

  • Company Name: Bright Future Academy
  • Address: Jaipur, Rajasthan
